KATELYN VERRIER VICTORIOUS IN 2008 CUUR SWEDISH BIKINI MODEL CONTEST

New CUUR spokesmodel, two runners up to strut down Style LA catwalk
LOS ANGELES- (July 27, 2008)- Judges tallied votes and announced Mount Ida College forensic psychology major, Katelyn Verrier, 21, as the winner. CUUR Swedish Bikini Model Contest judging criteria included confidence, delivery of sentences, diet evaluation, fitness evaluation, creativity and natural lifestyle. Scandinavian Clinical Nutrition CEO, Thomas Christensen, chose Verrier of Chester, NH because she embodies the natural, healthy Swedish CUUR image and is very outgoing and articulate.
“I will represent CUUR in the United States to women in a positive up-beat way to get healthy and feel great. I think a woman’s confidence is the best quality she can possess. Any person, size 0-20, should feel healthy and happy with themselves. I want to show women across America that CUUR can help them feel sexy and confident with who they are inside and out,” said Verrier.
Runner up, Mass Bay Community College communications major Ryanne Joyce, 20 of West Roxbury, MA, shared a similar message, focusing on feeling comfortable with curves, as long as you are healthy, not by magazine “stick figure” standards but by medical standards. Runner up Melissa Morris, 26, a mother from Lenexa, KS explained in her YouTube video entry that CUUR was her saving grace when trying to get back into shape after her first pregnancy.
“We held this national contest because we wanted to hear stories from real women using CUUR. We were so impressed by the YouTube video entries we received in response to the national spokesmodel opportunity. We could have gone after a celebrity endorsement but real women like to hear success stories from other real women,” said CUUR President, Gwen Kent.
CUUR is providing roundtrip airfare and accommodations for Verrier, Morris and Joyce to Style LA, an exclusive luxury bikini fashion show hosted by the popular Kardashian’s at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica on July 28, 2008. The event will benefit the Facial Paralysis Foundation and entertainment charity Stop the Violence/ Face the Music. Verrier will be crowned, with her national print ad unveiled to celebrity guests and media at the CUUR Cabana. In the limelight, the bikini-clad crew, Morris now with a baby bump, will mingle with attendees and strut their stuff down the poolside runway with a message to women across America- feel confident and comfortable in your own skin and live a positive lifestyle where you can give back.
“CUUR is excited to be the title sponsor for Style LA. We believe in giving back and know our corporate donation will help make a positive impact on the people who benefit from these charities,” said Kent.
